Chesapeake Bay Poster/Guides
The Gateways Network is publishing a series of full color poster/guides exploring and celebrating key Chesapeake themes and topics. These beautifully designed and illustrated products are available in two formats - a 20" x 30" traditional flat poster and a folded "take-along" guide handy for gift shop customers who wish to tuck it into a daypack or large pocket.
Chesapeake Bay Lighthouses - Lighting the Bay
Lighting the Bay explores the 32 remaining Chesapeake Bay lighthouses. One side of this spectacular poster features a cutaway "insider's view" of a screwpile lighthouse (based on the famous Thomas Point Shoal light) accompanied by a silhouette listing of all the Bay's remaining lighthouses, the year activated, and their locations. The reverse side is an information-packed, richly illustrated guide to the history and operations of Bay lighthouses. Historical and contemporary photographs of Bay lights and keepers are accompanied by a stunning 3-D rendering of Bay features created by the renowned map artist Tibor Toth. A map of the entire Bay shows today's locations of Bay lights both on and off shore.

Chesapeake Bay Workboats - Working the Bay
Working the Bay presents all the major types of classic Bay workboats. One side of this richly illustrated guide features a dramatic photograph of a skipjack accompanied by a cutaway showing key vessel elements. Below, an evocative vintage image of a Bay workboat fleet recalls the glory days of the Chesapeake's oystering industry. Using photographs and specially commissioned art, the reverse side surveys the major workboat types that evolved around the Bay over two centuries, from the earliest Native dugouts to today's gasoline and diesel powered deadrises. Lively text explores topics such as the waterman's life, boatbuilding methods, and the Bay's memorable "oyster boom." A map highlights places where visitors can see and learn more about classic Bay workboats.

Chesapeake Bay Waterfowl - Wings on the Bay
Wings on the Bay details the majesty of Chesapeake Bay swans, geese and ducks. One side is a poster featuring a stunning photograph of snow geese in flight over the Eastern Shore, along with basic information on common waterfowl species-including diving ducks, dabblers, and swans and geese- that spend time in the Bay region. On the reverse is an information-packed, richly illustrated guide to the history and human stories associated with the Chesapeake’s migratory waterfowl, including modern-day challenges and opportunities. An annotated map directs visitors to Gateways where they can see and learn more about these remarkable birds.
