Mayo's Island/Devil's Kitchen Wading Trip

Saturday August 16
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Join canal and river historian Bill Trout on a guided tour of Mayo's and Devil's Kitchen Islands. These islands are located in the Falls of the James adjacent to downtown Richmond. They have a number of historic and cultural sites of special interest, such as the Devil's Kitchen. This is a wading trip; wear tennis shoes to protect your feet and dress to get completely wet. Bring bug repellent, a hat, sunglasses and a canteen. Consider soft drinks or a picnic dinner for late afternoon. Meet in the parking lot next to Reynolds Recycling Center in the middle of Mayo's (14th Street) Bridge. (Parking not allowed at Reynolds).
