Saturday October 2
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
This exciting new program is designed to allow participants to explore Nature at George Washington’s Boyhood Home at Ferry Farm. This is the place where Washington developed his love for the outdoors while exploring the property’s fields, woods, and the river. During these four Saturdays in October, participants will have the opportunity to not only enjoy nature, but discover how to become partners with the natural world. Each Saturday will focus on a different aspect of nature—plants, birds, insects, and animals. Staff from The George Washington Foundation and The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will join together to provide hands-on, interactive experiences including crafts, games, and storytelling geared toward the natural world. Dress for the outdoors. Appropriate for ages 8-11.
