Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo

Friday October 22 - Sunday October 24

The Expo features the Annual Chesapeake Challenge Shootin’ Stool Competition, judged on Schumaker Pond. The competition is expected to bring carvers from around the mid-Atlantic region to compete for prizes in floating decoy and shorebird divisions, as well as categories featuring woodpecker and waterfowl silhouette decoys. An “Old Birds” Antique Decoy Competition features working decoys made prior to 1950 competing for a chance at prize money totaling $1,500. Included are two full days of buy, sell and trade with an eclectic mix of fine antique decoys, hunting items, folk art and antiques. Family fun activities will include retriever demos, the K-9 Search and Rescue Team, a carving workshop with Ross Smoker, a pig roast and other eastern shore food. And don’t miss the Decoy Auction by Zeb Barfield! Plus this year for the first time, the Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo will be held in partnership with Wicomico County’s Autumn Wine Festival in Pemberton Park.
