Saturday March 23 - Sunday March 24
The Virginia Living Museum shows a selection of documentaries that educate, enlighten and inspire global wildlife conservation. "In the Eye of the Whale" explores the work of photographer Bryant Austin, who sold everything he owned to photograph endangered whales in pursuit of ending whaling. "Last Journey for the Leatherback" explores in depth why this once most numerous sea turtle is disappearing and what humans can do to reverse the trend. "Beavers" takes viewers on an intimate swim with Beavers to experience the rich aquatic habitat of one of nature's greatest engineers. "The Next, Best West" explores the exploitation of the western landscape and shows three places where a vibrant new understanding of progress presages a better future. The films, provided by Wildlife Conservation Film Festivals, will be shown at various times during the day. Included in museum admission.
