6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Beyond Blackbeard and Morgan, the Chesapeake has witnessed visits from even more interesting buccaneers. Among the panoply of rascals, cutthroats and criminals were scientists, politicians, and naturalists. Join us to learn who were motivated by religion and who by politics; who was a surgeon, an anthropologist and the founder of one of the most respectable colleges on the East Coast, and who influenced geographers, naturalists, explorers, and the Royal Navy for centuries.
