Tuesday June 5
5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Join the Virginia Living Museum at the Abbitt Observatory and Planetarium for an amazing observing opportunity. On rare occasions, the Earth, Venus and the Sun align such that the planet Venus can be seen directly in front of the brilliant solar surface. On June 5, this will be briefly visible for the final time in our lifetime; the next transit of Venus will occur in 105 years. Come see it live as our staff astronomers interpret this incredible event for you. Cost includes dinner, a planetarium show, safe solar viewing glasses and more. 5:30-9 p.m. $30 per person, maximum 70 people. Register in advance at 757-595-9135.
