Chesapeake Bay Lighthouses Poster/Guide - Lighting the Bay -
Lighting the Bay, a full-color interpretive poster/guide featuring Chesapeake Bay lighthouses, is the first in a planned series of poster/guides celebrating the Chesapeake Bay.
Measuring 20” x 30”, this exquisitely printed, fact-filled poster/guide lives up to its name. One side is a poster with a cutaway “insider’s view” of a screwpile lighthouse (based on the famous Thomas Point Shoal light) accompanied by a silhouette listing of all the Bay’s remaining lighthouses, the year activated, and their locations. The reverse side is an information-packed, richly illustrated guide to the history and operations of Bay lighthouses. Historical and contemporary photographs of Bay lights and keepers are accompanied by a stunning 3-D rendering of Bay features created by the renowned map artist Tibor Toth. A map of the entire Bay shows today’s locations of Bay lights both on and off shore.
Lighting the Bay is available in two formats: a traditional flat “poster” format and a map-folded, “take-along” version handy for those who wish to tuck it into a daypack or large pocket. Lighting the Bay is available for on-line ordering through a partner website and at retail shops at selected Gateways around the Bay.
