|Brief Description:||The Visitors Center at Sailwinds Park is a major entry point to the lower Eastern Shore, positioned just off U.S. Route 50 along the shore of the Choptank River. As a Gateways regional information center, the facility helps visitors find out about Chesapeake Bay Gateways in the region, as well as a variety of other activities and visitor services. The site also provides access to the Choptank waterfront and historic Cambridge, Maryland.
The Sailwinds Visitor Center complex promotes Chesapeake Bay ecological preservation through native plantings, shoreline stabilizations, and outdoor interpretive signage. Look for the giant sail canopy above the building.
