Brief Description: Terrapin Park sits on 276 acres of Bay front land north of the Kent Island Terminus of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The park includes over 4,000 feet of shoreline and 73 acres of wetlands, making it a destination for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. From the two observation blinds which border the tidal ponds, herons, ospreys, swans, turtles, bullfrogs and a variety of songbirds can be seen.
Location / Directions: The park is accessible by taking US Route 50 (exit 37) to Route 8 in Stevensville. Follow Route 8 north to the first stoplight. Take a left onto Bateau Drive. Turn right onto Skipjack Parkway. At the stop sign, take the next left onto Log Canoe Circle and follow it for several hundred yards. The entrance to the park will be on your left.

Visitors may walk the nature trails through meadow, wetlands, tidal ponds and woodlands to the sandy beach at the Bay shoreline. The trail, observation blinds boardwalk provide a vantage point for viewing waterfowl and the Bay. A small picnic area is located at the site of an old homestead. Shade trees and portable rest room facilities are nearby. Fishing is allowed except in posted areas (license required). Camping is allowed by permit only. Hunting, trapping, and firearms are prohibited.

Visitor Facilities: The facility currently offers a one mile nature trail, two observation blinds, several sitting areas foot bridges, a gazebo, a parking area, and a boardwalk leading to the Chesapeake Bay.
