Come hear stories of Wildewildt’s fisheries, see the famed Trigg Shipyard locks, examine the Great Ship Lock terminus, the Richmond docks, and the vast history of this little island! All of this while you enjoy the laziness of the James River, walking along the tidal portions of the river, watching fisherman casting and wading. Wear walking shoes and bring bug spray. Meet at the foot of Pear Street. Park in the Great Ship Lock parking lot. Coming from the west, take Main Street, Cary Street or Dock Street to Pear Street and turn right. From the east, come down Main Street to Pear Street and turn left. The Great Ship Lock is located at the foot of Pear Street across Canal Street.
