Waterman’s Observation Deck

block Dogwood Harbor at Tilghman Island

Dogwood Harbor is home to Chesapeake Bay commercial watermen, historic skipjacks, and waterfront businesses. This project combines interpretation, through a series of interpretive wayside exhibits on tradition watermen’s life, history and culture; stewardship, shoreline protection and habitat restoration through new bulkhead development and the removal of exotics and planting of native species; and access to experience first-hand authentic Chesapeake traditions and culture through the construction of a public viewing deck.

Amount Funded: $110,000.00

Start Date: 08/25/2006
