Interpreting Waterside Resources

block Watermen's Museum

Devoted to the history and culture of Chesapeake watermen through the centuries, this museum in Yorktown, Virginia will develop a master plan to guide future development and interpretation. In addition, this grant supports the construction of a new outdoor platform that will display interpretive materials and offer better access to the museum's historic workboats, including a classic 28-foot deadrise, and the museum's public programs of guided boat trips.

Amount Funded: $49,698.00

Start Date: 09/15/2005
