Pickering Creek Gateway to Science, Grades 6-8

block Pickering Creek Audubon Center

Every student in the public schools in Talbot County on Maryland's Eastern Shore receives a hands-on environmental education at this 400-acre nature center. Pickering Creek has already developed highly successful Chesapeake Bay-based curriculum programs for students in grades 1-5 and in high school. This grant supports the development of such a curriculum for grades 6-8. The curriculum will meet state and federal standards of learning, and it will incorporate computer technology to take advantage of a recent decision by county school officials to provide every student with a laptop.

Amount Funded: $51,016.00

Start Date: 09/15/2005
