Gwynns Falls Trail Interpretation and Stewardship Development

block Gwynns Falls Trail and Greenway

This urban greenway winds through 14 mostly forested miles of Baltimore City, directly connecting 30 densely populated urban neighborhoods with the natural resources of the Chesapeake watershed. Building on projects developed under an earlier grant, the Gwynns Falls Trail Council will develop 15 new wayside panels interpreting historical and environmental themes and add 11 new orientation panels at existing kiosks and 3 new kiosks. This grant also continues an oral history project and the development of a volunteer stewardship program designed to help guarantee the long-term sustainability of the trail.

Amount Funded: $112,000.00

Start Date: 09/15/2005
