Grants Awarded - Eastern Neck Island Water Trail

Eastern Neck Island Water Trail

block Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge

The National Aquarium in Baltimore, in partnership with the Friends of Eastern Neck and the Fish and Wildlife Service, will create a water trail around Eastern Neck Island. This project will connect scenic, historic and wetland restoration sites around the island for the recreational and educational benefit of paddlers and other boaters. The water trail will include points of interest such as restored wetlands, access locations, and picnic sites, shown in a map and guide format. The project will result in a map and guide, orientation signage and a management/maintenance strategy led by the Friends. These products will help visitors enjoy, explore and better understand Eastern Neck as well as the greater Chesapeake Bay, and their role in the Bay's restoration and recovery.

Amount Funded: $30,352.00

Start Date: 09/15/2005
