Connecting Communities to the Chesapeake Through Public Involvement in Tidal Wetland Restoration
Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge
National Aquarium in Baltimore
Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and the National Aquarium will partner to engage the community in wetland restoration while fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of the Chesapeake Bay. The Aquarium will work with the refuge to carry out a 1.5 acre community-based wetland restoration. In addition to direct environmental improvements, by involving volunteers in the process of wetland restoration, the importance of the Chesapeake Bay can be demonstrated directly to a large number of volunteers.
