Interpreting the Southern Entrance to the Chesapeake Watershed

The project will create access, via an elevated observation area, for visitors to view the lock on the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal. Granite from the historical, pre-civil war lock will be included in the construction. It will include a small amphitheatre where interpretive programs will take place, and six interpretive panels will be developed for the site.
