Riverwalk

block Gloucester Point Beach Park

The story of Gloucester Point has never been told to the thousands of visitors and residents who visit the public park and Chesapeake Bay Gateway. Gloucester Point is rich in history, culture and natural amenities. This "Riverwalk" will tell this multi-faceted story in a creative and scenic way, creating a new walkway, observation tower and series of interpretative exhibits to guide people along the riverfront where they will learn about the site. There are currently only a limited number of seasonal programs at the park and the new walk will provide year-round education. The project ties in with beach and park improvement that are currently underway as part of the restoration after Hurricane Isabel. The project will serve as a new attraction for the park and a public educational tool.

Amount Funded: $47,800.00

Start Date: 09/04/2004
