The Visitor Orientation Program-Enhancing the Visitor's Experience
Adkins Arboretum will develop a comprehensive Visitor Orientation Program. This will add and/or substantially improve orientation to encourage visitors to spend more time exploring the Arboretum grounds and learning about its conservation mission through various interpretive programs and activities. The project components include: an information kiosk at the entrance to the Arboretum’s Visitor’s Center; an interpretive exhibit located in the Visitor’s Center lobby that offers an orientation to the site; an audio tour version of the Arboretum’s self-guided tour to interpret the paths and various habitats; and enhancement of the Arboretum’s interpretive guided tour program through an expanded volunteer docent training program.
