Development of Susquehanna River Trail - North Branch
Susquehanna River Water Trail - Middle Section
Two complementary grants, one to the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and one to the Endless Mountains Heritage Area, will extend the Susquehanna River Trail along the North Branch of the Susquehanna to the Pennsylvania/New York border. These projects will build on the existing Susquehanna water trails on lower segments of the river. Each project will develop a map and guide, informational signs, and a management strategy for that trail segment. Ultimately, this project will show how this stretch of the Susquehanna and its watershed relate to the rest of the river and the Chesapeake Bay. Water trails help people access, enjoy and understand the river and engage them in caring for it. The Endless Mountains Heritage Area and other partners will contribute funding and time to match the Gateways grant.
