Kent Naroows Wayside Interpretive Stations Project
Chesapeake Exploration Center
This project will create six interpretive panels located at different spots around Kent Narrows in the vicinity of the Chesapeake Exploration Center. These exhibits will serve as satellite extensions of the center and are designed to both tell site-specific stories and to entice visitors to the center. Kent Narrows has long played an important role in the seafood and tourism industries of the region - the mainland shore has been the site of numerous packing houses, while the Island side of the channel, once mainly marsh, has in recent years been developed and become a haven for recreational boaters and tourists. This project will connect the center's interpretive information on these themes to real places in the immediate area.
