Telling the Story of the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge
Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge
This project will provide the first interpretive exhibits for the new Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge. An kiosk with several exhibit panels will be constructed near the parking area to introduce visitors to the refuge and its resources. Additional interpretive exhibits will be developed along one of the refuge's primary walking trails. These panels will help visitors experience and understand the habitat values of this Potomac River site. Technical assistance from the Gateways Network will also help develop an interpretive plan for the refuge to guide future programming.
