Cherry Tree Canoe Access and Park

block Susquehanna River Water Trail - West Branch

The Town of Cherry Tree will create a new canoe access point and park along the West Branch Susquehanna River Water Trail. The site will the allow the public to launch canoes and kayaks, introduce boaters to the river's heritage associated with the lumber industry, and demonstrate conservation principles through low impact design and planting native species. The project is significant because it will extend public access on the upper 40 miles of the 240 mile West Branch water trail, where boat launch sites are currently relatively limited.

Amount Funded: $25,000.00

Start Date: 08/15/2003
