USS Constellation Audio Tour
USS Constellation Museum
The USS Constellation Museum will perform a complete overhaul of its primary means of telling the vessel's story – a tour used by virtually every visitor. The project will create a new audio tour to give visitors an engaging, immersive experience while on board the ship. Using a carefully researched script, professional actors and accompanying sound effects, the tour will provide "first-person narration" from multiple points of view, including various crew members, mid-shipmen and shipwrights. Stories and themes would include: the construction of the ship on the Bay at the Gosport shipyard near Norfolk, life on board ship during anti-slave missions, ship operations, and the experiences of mid-shipmen training on the Constellation at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. Characters will tell these stories from varying perspectives providing real life to the vessel.
