Marshy Point Park - Baltimore, MD
Marshy Point Park
Photo Tour

The shores of Dundee and Saltpeter Creeks, over three thousand acres, are the largest area of natural wetlands and forest available for public study and enjoyment in the Baltimore area. Marshy Point Nature Center is the interpretive center for this protected corner of the Chesapeake Bay. Through exhibits, lectures, courses, school field trips, summer day camp, family nature walks and guided canoe trips the incredible diversity of life in the Chesapeake Bay can be seen and treasured. In the clean waters of Dundee Creek eleven species of submerged aquatic vegetation are thriving. This provides a nursery for the minnows and fish that populate the bay. Great blue herons, ospreys and bald eagles can been seen nesting here and fishing the waters. Muskrats, raccoons and river otters live in the extensive wetlands. Each winter the abundant aquatic plants attract flocks of tundra swans and twenty species of waterfowl. The nature center is the public gateway to see where life in the Chesapeake Bay begins.

Hours: The park is open 7 days a week, 9 am to 5 pm. Closed on Baltimore County holidays.
Fees: There is no fee to enter the park or the nature center.
