Onancock is approximately 50 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. If you're coming from the north, we're 60 miles south of Salisbury, Maryland.
When entering the town of Onley on Route 13 from the North of South, take Route 179 West. The Onancock Historic District is approximately 2 miles West. When arriving in the business district on Market Street (Route 179), public parking lots are available at the first right (North St) and left (Ames St.) intersections.
Driving to Onancock from Wilmington, Delaware (and points north): Take Delaware SR-1 (toll road) south from Wilmington 43 miles. Take the US-13 exit for Norfolk/Salisbury, go 2 miles. Turn left onto US Highway 13. Stay on US-13 for 115 miles. Turn right onto VA 179 (Market Street). Downtown Onancock is 2 miles straight ahead.
Driving to Onancock from Washington/Baltimore: Cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Go east on US-50 to Salisbury, 79 miles. Exit onto the Salisbury Bypass/US-13, following signs for Norfolk, and travel 60 miles south on US-13. Turn right onto VA-179 (Market Street). Downtown Onancock is 2 miles straight ahead.
Driving to Onancock from Norfolk/Virginia Beach: Take the Northampton Boulevard exit from I-64. Stay on Northampton Boulevard to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Cross the Chesapeake Bay. Drive north on US Highway 13 50 miles. Turn left onto VA-179 (Market Street). Downtown Onancock is 2 miles straight ahead.
