Calvert Marine Museum - Solomons, MD
Activities:

The museum offers a regular series of events including youth programs, field trips, Elderhostel events, outdoor and indoor concerts, boat building classes, clubs, camps, cruises, an historic WWII re-enactment, an antique boat and engine show, and many family festivals such as Family Discovery Days, Sharkfest, and the Patuxent River Appreciation Days.

Facilities: 29,000 square foot exhibition building with 198 seat auditorium, museum store, permanent and changing exhibits; library and archives; small craft (boat) collection; 1883 Drum Point Lighthouse; boat-building skills preservation center; J.C. Lore Oyster House; Cove Point Lighthouse, Patuxent Small Craft Center.
Lighthouses:

Cove Point Lighthouse - Located four miles north of the entrance to the Patuxent River. Automated 1986. Transferred to Calvert Marine Museum, but light is still active and the optic and radio building are owned by US Coast Guard. Site is open to the public through tours originating at the museum. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. (Learn More)

Drum Point Lighthouse - Originally located at a shoal on the north side of the entrance to the Patuxent River. Automated 1960. Deactivated 1962. Relocated to Calvert Marine Museum, Solomons Island in 1975. Owned and maintained by the museum. Light is listed on National Register of Historic Places. (Learn More)
